In
1976, St. Mary’s Boys’ Home at Thalacode came under ‘Parimala Mar Gregorios
Memorial Charitable Trust’ headed by Metropolitan Paulos Mar Gregorios.
This was started in 1963 by Late Very Rev O. C. Kuriakose Corepiscopa founder
- headmaster of St. Mary’s Higher secondary school Who was movedby
the suffering of the society, especially children.
The
multifaceted programmes of the Trust bring radical changes in the life
of the inmates of the Home. A life from neglect
to recognition. Committed services of the Trust during the past
24 years have pavedthe
way for pathbreaking changesamong
the beneficiaries of the Boy’s Home and the society at large.
At
Boy’s Home, the Trust lays emphasis on the overall development of children.
The
Trust has now assumed more productive dimensions
with Boy’s Home, ITC, Production Centre -Paulos Mar Gregorios Techno Link,
women’s welfare society, Computer Centre and a Chapel.
For
promoting women’s welfare, the Women’s welfare Society was
formed to have working arrangements with M/s. Keltron, M/s Guardian
Controls, M/s. GBM and M/s. Vigil for assembling their products.
Now
a new venture, Paulos Mar Grgorios Techno Link is doing assembling of Connectors
for M/s. Framatome Connectors OEN Ltd.

To
provide food, shelter and clothing, as well as other necessities of life
for orphans and destitute children selected from all communities, irrespective
of caste or creed, to provide them with facilities for Education, to bring
them up in the love of God to become useful citizens and help to place
them in proper occupations to the extent possible for the Trust.
To
establish and conduct Educational, Technical and Training Institutions
for orphans and needy children irrespective of caste or creed.
To
establish and run various kinds of charitable institutions, to found endowments
in the nameof the Trust etc; for
the support and assistance of all kinds of needy children and adults.
For the spiritual advancement of the inmates
of orphanages establish Chapels, Prayer
Halls, Community Halls, fellowship Houses etc;

To
raise funds by way of contributions, donations or aid from members of the
Trust, from the magnanimous general public, from charitable institutions,
Public Institutions, Government, Christian and other Religious societies
and from whatever source available in India or abroad provided that the
contributions will not in any way bind the hands of the Trust in its normal
functioning.
Summary
of Activities of P.M.G.M.C. Trust
Parimala
Mar Gregorios Memorial Charitable Trust, Thalacode is administering St.
Mary’s Boy’s Home, MarGregorios
ITC and Paulos Mar Gregorios Techno Link. One hundred and ten poor children
in various age groups are staying in Boys Home. We provide them all basic
necessities of life such as food, education, and clothing. These
children are selected irrespective of caste
or creed. The contribution from M/s Roy International Providential Foundation,
St.
Mary’s Boy’s Home was the pet project of Late Dr. Paulos Mar Gregorios
Metropolitan. Many children from our Boys Home have become Doctors, Engineers,
and Government employees. Some of them often visit here to spend some time
with the children.
Mar
Gregorios ITC offers educational facilities for about three hundred children.
This training institute was started mainly
for the higher education in Boys Home.Only
nominal fees is charged for the dayscholars
and the boys home children is given training free of cost.
Paulos
Mar Gregorios Techno Link was started, to
support St. Mary’s Boys’ Home Financially. Assembling work of connectors
for M/s. Framatone Connectors OEN India Ltd. is
done here on subcontract basis. It offfers
job oppertunities for the rural women who have passed SSLC. Now
35 women in nearby places are employed here.
